As a local builder in this new millenium I have successfully combined old school craftsmanship with the new technology that is available to us today.

I believe in using only the best in materials, engineering and design.

I started in the building industry in the early 1970's at a trade school in Carroll County MD. My original trade was a bricklayer. When I graduated from high school in 1978 I was hired into the bricklayers union in Baltimore local #1.

In 1980 I started my first business as a mason contractor, by 1984 I employed 35 masons, we contracted every thing from town homes and single family homes to churches and warehouses.

By the late 1980's I began expanding my horizons into building. The building started out small, my first single family home was built in 1986 in Columbia MD.

Building homes has always been my passion, so in 1990 I started McCarthy and Son Contracting Co., a combination company of custom homes and custom masonry work. The company was named after my son Kevin Jr., who was born in 1984, who recently graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and now works with me every day as my apprentice.

For 12 years I built some of the finest homes in the Baltimore metro area in neighborhoods such as Forest Glen, The Chase and Farside in Howard County.

In the year 2002 I moved my business to the Eastern Shore, Ocean Pines MD.

It wasn't too long before the word spread and now I am building some of the fines homes on the shore.

What separates McCarthy and Son from the rest is simple, first we continue to stay small. Second, we offer personal service from the top of our Company that means me. When you contract McCarthy and Son you get my personal attention throughout the entire project. And most important we do the work in-house. I have assembled a staff of skilled tradesman such as carpenters, masons, concrete finishers, trim carpenters and tile setters. We only sub contract the utilities to licensed capable contractors.
